All mighty bikes have an Achilles' heel.
 
For the Suzuki DR650, the cush drive system is something to care for very well to avoid a catastrophic failure while out on your trip.
 
Being a large thumper, the mighty bushpig is pounding hard on the cush drive rubbers and it seems they do wear out faster than what most riders realize!
 
These rubber blocks are designed to cushion the torque apply to the rear wheel, to help with a smoother driving experience, less chain and tire wear so keeping them in good shape is critical.
 
Replace these as soon as you feel a play in the sprocket carrier hub. When the dampers are worn, a lot of torque is applied to the carrier bearing, which in turn will fail really quickly and leave you stranded.
 
Better done early than late, this set of 6 rubber dampers will keep your bike at the top of its reliability and are well to do when you need to replace your Rear Wheel Bearings or just the Sprocket Carrier Bearing.
