Do you have a Yamaha WR250 R or X?
Are you wondering what this unsightly assortment of hoses and a chunky valve on your bike is? Apart from sapping some power, this system is an air injector so that the bike meets EPA standards but robs the engine of its true grunt.
Remove those parts and shave over a pound off your bike using our Yamaha AIS Delete Kit.
The air induction system (AIS) burns the "unburned" exhaust gases by injecting fresh air (secondary air) into the exhaust port, reducing the emission of hydrocarbons by completing the burn in the exhaust.
Once this is capped off, the air injection system can be safely removed. You want to remove the air injection system from your bike for a few reasons.
- If you want to remove all unnecessary equipment from your bike for reduced weight and ease of maintenance.
- When installing an aftermarket exhaust (if using the stock exhaust, it's best to keep the AIS)
- When doing the bike, get an accurate Air: Fuel (A/F) ratio.
Installation is easy:
- Use the machined billet aluminum block-off plate for the cylinder (re-use the gasket)
- Use the rubber cap to close off the air box spigot
